Looking at at a map, the trail head to this hike appears to be located north of Lake Wenatchee. Look for Chiwawa River road on the map (22.5 miles from the Chiwawa Loop road). From there, go hp the hill on Phelps road No. 6211 a total of 2.5 miles to the gate and trailhead. The elevation is 3500 feet here.

At this point, there's supposed to be a gate, which the guide book states is ok to pass around (keep an eye out for signs sayting otherwise, if the state has since changed it's policy on this trail). Anyway, you're now on trail No. 1511, which you'll follow to the Glacier Peak Wilderness, 2.75 miles distance.

At a distance of 5 miles, you'll come to Spider Meadow.

You can stop here and call it a day hike, but why? There's still a lot more hiking in front of you, if you're up for it. If you check out a trail map, you'll see that the Spider Gap-Buck Creep Pass Loop is approx. 44 miles in length, and it's suggested that you give yourself 4 - 7 days to make this trip. The high point is 7100 feet, and the trail is hikable late july to late September.
