The trek to Image Lake in / near the Glacier Peak Wilderness is listed as 32 miles round trip and is probably a 2 - 3 day trip, so pack overnight gear for this one.

The lake is apparently called "Image" Lake because it reflects an image of a 2 mile high volcano (Glacier Peak, which a lot of people don't realize is a volcano).

To get to the trail, take Highway 530 north from Darrington and turn on to Suiattle River Road No. 26 and follow that approximately 23 miles. You'll then follow an abandoned roaad about 1 mile to a "Y". At this point, stay to your left (go straight ahead) on the Suiattle River Trail.

This hike is listed in detail with a full color photo in "100 Classic Hikes in Washington" by Ira Spring & Harvey Manning.
