A friend sent me a video on white water kayak on the Skykomish River. Kayaking looks intense; what kind of safety gear do I need, if i rent a kayak and try
this out? I think I heard somewhere that you need an instructor, or there's good chance you're gonna drown

Well this is a sport you do not want to think you can do with out any training. You have to pay attention to like 15 things before you do anything.
It's not like you jump in your kayak and go down the river and your gonna have a good time, that is probably the worst thing you could do. DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY COULD OCCUR!!!. The best thing to do in contact someone in the industry and ask them questions like:1. How much is a kayak? 2. Do I need any training? but i can tell you that you do!!! 3. Where is a good starting course? 4. Is there any rules and regulations? etc etc. This is what it comes down to with Just like any sport you have to start out on the bunny hill. |
